DESCRIPTION:Since the in-person youth Lock-In Retreat originally planned for March 6-7 of this year at the Pokrova Ukrainian Catholic Church in Parma\, OH has been canceled due to the current pandemic\, the Eparchial Youth Committee is organizing a virtual Lock-In Retreat via Zoom titled “Hope of the Resurrection” for our young people on Sunday\, March 7th (Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross) between 1 and 3 pm. The encounter will be led by our eparch\, Bishop Bohdan J. Danylo together with the members of the Eparchial Youth Committee (EYC). The call is also open to all clergymen of St. Josaphat Eparchy. Please pray for all those who have made commitments in the consecrated life\, and be sure to thank them on their special day. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God’s gift of their vocation. \nThis celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too\, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of consecrated persons for the whole Church.

The theme of the upcoming Sobor/Council is Immigration/Migration\, Settlements and the Unity of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. \nIn order to prepare for the Sobor\, a gathering of bishops\, clergy\, monastic and lay delegates from every eparchy in the entire Ukrainian Catholic Church\, each eparchy is asked to have pre-Sobor conventions to discuss the importance of this topic on our local level. \nSince our eparchy geographically covers 11 states in order to discuss these issues in depth\, we are planning a regional convention.
