On August 24, Ukraine will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its independence.
Once again, our beloved homeland marks Independence Day during a time of war. Ukraine continues to defend its freedom, its people, and its right to live in peace.
I ask the faithful of the Saint Josaphat Eparchy and all people of good will to join in prayer for Ukraine on Monday, August 24, 2026. Let us pray for a just and lasting peace, for those defending Ukraine, and for all who suffer because of the war.
On this Independence Day, may we remain united with Ukraine through our faith, prayer, and support.

Молитва за мир в Україні з нагоди 35-ї річниці Незалежності
24 серпня Україна відзначатиме 35-ту річницю своєї Незалежності.
І знову наша улюблена Батьківщина відзначає День Незалежності в час війни. Україна продовжує захищати свою свободу, свій народ і право жити в мирі.
Я закликаю вірних Єпархії святого Йосафата та всіх людей доброї волі об’єднатися в молитві за Україну в понеділок, 24 серпня 2026 року. Молімося за справедливий і тривалий мир, за захисників України та всіх, хто страждає через війну.
У цей День Незалежності залишаймося єдиними з Україною через нашу віру, молитву та підтримку.
Прошу вас приєднатися до мене та піднести наведену нижче молитву за Україну і її народ.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Lord our God, we are grateful to You for the gift of freedom and for thirty-five years of Ukraine’s independence. We thank You for our homeland, its faith, culture, and unconquered spirit.
We thank You for all who defend Ukraine and its freedom and dignity. Bless their courage and sacrifice. Comfort the wounded, the captives, the displaced, and all who have lost loved ones and homes. Remind us, Ukrainian Americans, of our responsibility to care for Ukraine and to be her voice here in the United States.
We ask You, O Lord: as America celebrates its 250th anniversary, bless this nation and remind us that Ukraine today is fighting for the same great principles—Liberty, Justice, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Grant Ukraine a just peace and the victory of truth.
Most Holy Mother of God, Protectress of the Ukrainian people, cover Ukraine and America with your holy mantle. Protect our defenders, our families, and all who suffer.
For You are the God of peace, freedom, and mercy, and we give glory to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and forever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Господи Боже наш, дякуємо Тобі за дар свободи і за 35 років Незалежності України. Дякуємо за нашу Батьківщину, її віру, культуру й незламний дух.
Дякуємо Тобі за всіх людей, які сьогодні захищають Україну, її свободу і гідність. Благослови їхню мужність і жертовність. Утіш поранених, полонених, біженців, тих, хто втратив рідних і домівки. А нам, українцям Америки, дай пам’ятати про наш обов’язок: підтримувати Україну і бути її голосом у Сполучених Штатах.
Просимо Тебе, Господи: у рік 250-ліття Сполучених Штатів благослови цю країну і нагадай усім нам, що Україна сьогодні бореться за ті самі великі принципи — свободу, справедливість і право кожної людини прагнути щастя. Даруй Україні справедливий мир і перемогу правди.
Пресвята Богородице, Покровителько українського народу, покрий Україну і Америку Своїм святим омофором, захисти наших воїнів, наші родини і всіх, хто страждає.
Бо Ти єси Бог миру, свободи і милосердя, і Тобі славу возсилаємо, Отцю, і Сину, і Святому Духові, нині, і повсякчас, і на віки віків. Амінь.
