It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Reverend Msgr. Mitrat Thomas Sayuk who passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, in Brookville, Florida at the age of 72.

Msgr. Sayuk was born on December 13, 1949 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  He studied at St. Basil’s Seminary, Stamford, Ct and at St. Josaphat’s Seminary and Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.  He was ordained to the priesthood on August 15, 1974 in Philadelphia.  Monsignor served as assistant pastor of Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Philadelphia (1974-1983) and Chancellor of the Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma (1983-2009).  He was the former assistant chancellor of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia. The title of Papal Chaplain was conferred on him by Pope John Paul II on October 5, 1984.
